With the school holidays nearly upon us, now is the perfect time to start thinking about things to do, and who doesn't love a visit to the zoo?!
Healesville Sanctuary is a bushland haven for Australian Wildlife. See koalas, kangaroos, wombats, Tassie devils and watch the amazing Spirits of the Sky birds of prey display at 12pm and 2:30pm daily.
For the under 5 year olds there is Wallaby Wednesdays where littlies get to enjoy dressing up as a wallaby with wallaby ears and tails, wallaby face painting to take part in hopping games, pouch races and wallaby trails. (Wallaby ears and tails are provided for dress up fun)
Visit the wildlife hospital, with special presentations at 11:00am,1:30pm and 3:00pm daily.
Meet the Keeper talks run throughout the day between 11am - 3:30pm. Check the timetable here.
Werribee Open Range Zoo, experience an African adventure close to home. Hang out with the Hippos these school holidays with the new hippo daily Keeper presentation at 1:10pm. View the lion cubs that were born on the 13th of Dec 2016 between 9:30-12pm daily. Make sure you don't miss out on Meet the Keeper talks.
Melbourne Zoo is an oasis tucked away in the heart of the city. There is so much to do and see here. My little girl's favourite is the Butterfly House whilst the boys love being able to go into the Meerkat enclosure and seeing the elephants.

We make a point to visiting every school holidays or just popping in for an hour or so if we are in the area. The kids also love the receiving their zoo magazine and activities in the mail.
