Also known as the Yarra Glen Craft Market, the Yarra Glen Racecourse Market boasts over 250 stalls. All of which are local makers, bakers, creators, producers, artists and musicians from the Yarra Valley & Dandenong Ranges.



Start your day with scones topped with fresh cream and fruity jam. Or if you want, call it brunch and choose from calamari rings, paella, gozleme, just to name a few. There are 2 grassy seating areas with tables and chairs. Because the market is so popular, it can be some time before you get a seat. Maybe bring a picnic mat so you can enjoy your food while it is warm. Psst, here’s a bonus tip. If you cannot get seats or the weather is not great, head over to the sheltered seats at the grandstand. The grandstand overlooks the racetracks, with peaks of the ranges as a backdrop.

If you are looking for a gift, this is the place for you. There are handmade children’s clothing for the newly born, treats for our four-legged friends, snacks for the sweet tooth, fresh produce for the home cook, flowers for mum and perhaps woollen socks for dad. Experience the taste of the local region by sampling some gin, honey or chutney.



The task of establishing the vibe of a market lies in the hands of the busker, literally, as they strum on their guitar. The market’s regular busker, Ben, covers a list of popular tracks. He is great with kids and occasionally, a lucky kid gets to have a go on the guitar. There is a grassy dance floor for the young legs to dance along. And soon, you will find yourself bobbing your head to the tune, only stopping to sip your cup of coffee.
