Melbourne's newest theme park Gumbuya World has adapted to the change in seasons by offering new activities within the entertainment venue's water park; Oasis Springs.
Gumbuya World, 50 minutes drive from Melbourne CBD is an amusement park split into 4 areas:
Oasis Springs: An epic water park with water slides, a lazy river, rock pools and more.
Oz Adventure: Ride rollercoasters, swings and the Gumbuya Express mini train around the park.
Outback Explorers: A world of adventure for smaller thrill-seekers, with pirate ships, kinder playground, giant berries and big-rig trucks.
Wildlife Trail: Meet and great Aussie animal favourites and some exotic species too.
My family and I visited Gumbuya World twice in the summer and on both ocassions absolutely loved it. That said, we spent the majority of our time in the Oasis Springs water park and therefore did wonder what they would do to attract visitors during the cooler months between May and September.
It seems the inventive Gumbuya World team thought ahead and have adapted Oasis Springs to host a series of new experiences that involve getting into the water without actually getting wet (and cold!).
The Lazy River, which in the summertime you'll find teaming with families floating up and down on rubber tubes, is now filled with paddle boats.

Gumbuya World has also introduced Zorb Balls into the pools so you can have fun on the surface of the water dipping your toe in.
Well done Gumbuya World for thinking outside the tank. Without the above winter additions, Oasis Springs would be otherwise deserted and pretty useless throughout the cooler months. Not any more!
