Join in on the NEW Art of Beer tour of Melbourne, which will cover the city's relationship with beer, its history and the best places to drink and enjoy beer.
If you want your kids getting back to nature, enjoying imaginative play, challenging their climbing abilities on the aerial obstacles or being fearless kids, then this is a must visit playground!
You would not believe me if I were to show you these pictures and tell you this playground is in Mount Waverley, or rather 20km from Melbourne's CBD, but that's exactly where this hidden gem is!
The first thing I heard when we got out of the car? Birds! Not cars, not trucks or any other sounds that you might associate with being on the outskirts of the city. The next thing I heard was another unexpected surprise "Mum, I've caught a pet lizard, can I take him home?"
Then the race was on to see who could climb the highest, be the fastest on the flying foxes, become the next 'Master Chef' by cooking the best rock hamburger on the 'BBQ' in the sandpit, complete with 'fresh thyme and leaves'.

Our time at the playground could have lasted a few hours had we been prepared with a picnic or some sausages for the BBQ, but it's just a good excuse to go back again!
Valley Reserve Playspace is located at 80 Waimarie Dr, Mount Waverley VIC and incorporates nature trails, wildlife information, a fantastic aerial obstacle course, 2 huge flying foxes, a net swing, normal swings, lots of ropes, climbing frames, stepping stone challenges, a great sandpit and much more.
Facilities include: Four BBQ's, picnic tables, 3 sheltered areas, new toilet block with disability access, drinking fountain with water bottle tap, a large sealed/shaded carpark and great short walking trails with signage.
The kids give it 9.3/10 (scored by a 8y.o boy and 10y.o girl)
One of the world’s most famous stories is being brought to life this summer by Playhouse Pantomimes! Join them on a magical journey through a mystical world in their mesmerising current production of 'Alice in Wonderland.'
Dining out with the kids is not always easy, but it can be even harder trying to find family-friendly options when you are vegetarian, vegan, paleo or gluten free. If you can relate to this, make Plant Based Mum your go-to blog.
