This ever-popular brilliant café in Tyabb has recently started serving early Dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings and is now licensed.
The Hungry Peacock opened in July 2015, and is the realisation of two couples who had a dream of opening a creative place where families can enjoy time together. Where kids can be entertained and adults can enjoy a nice meal, great coffee (while it’s still hot!) or a cheeky wine.
It’s a combination of a play centre and cafe united in a delightful old cottage-style building.
At the front of the cafe there’s a deck overlooking a sandpit with trucks and an assortment of toys. There’s a cubby house; construction zone and a very popular long pipe where kids can roll balls and cars down.
Inside you will find bunting -covered ceilings, plenty of tables and chairs and a few couches nestled against a fireplace.
This place is a true haven for kids! Here they can play with a fully stocked toy kitchen; a doll house; read a book from their varied collection; colour in supplied colour sheets or draw a picture in a Superman blank journal.
There is also an awesome construction site equipped with foam bricks, construction hat, a crane rope where you pull up a bag full of bricks and a wheelbarrow. My son LOVED this. As, it appeared, did most of the children.
There is also plenty to keep the non-walkers entertained, with an enclosure full of toys and books.
The menu offers lots of yummy options and the prices are very reasonable. The children have such options of multig-rain sandwiches, hummus and fruit plate and for something a little more unusual strawberry and banana quesadillas.
The Hungry Peacock is a fantastic café. Filled with creative play and the chance to let parents enjoy great food and a fun (loud) atmosphere.
Make this your next family outing. Your kids will love it, guaranteed.
Imagine never forgetting a birthday again. KidsUKnow is a world first that has never been done before. It’s a simple, practical concept that is all about remembering the names and birthdays of the kids you know.
