Are you one of the MANY Australian mums who has FEAR of birth? This course is for you.
If you are a mum-to-be who is feeling worried, anxious or fearful of labour and birth, and have had your fears and concerns dismissed by a medical professional, you are certainly not alone.
Did you know that a THIRD of all pregnant women in Australia report having a traumatic birth? These disempowering, traumatic experiences can so easily be avoided if parents are provided an opportunity to make their own, informed decisions. This is where The First 1000 Days can help.
Developed by functional medicine nutritionist and mum Emma Park, The First 1000 Days is a brand new, self-paced online program for mums and dads. The aim is to educate, empower and improve outcomes from conception through pregnancy, birth, feeding and infant development to 2 years old, while also examining the role of the gut.
As a specialist in gut health and the Microbiome (the collection of bacteria, viruses and fungi in the body) Emma will not only teach parents the power of food, nutrition and the Microbiome for you and your baby, but also how to be prepared and empowered for Australiaís maternity healthcare system.
Australia currently has a 40% induction rate, with only a fraction of those for medical reasons, meaning thereís a huge number of women being induced unnecessary. A third of births are c-section, with a third of births reported as traumatic and 10% of women going onto develop post-traumatic stress disorder.
It doesnít haven to be this way, with help in understanding your choices available through The First 1000 Days.
If you're planning to conceive, newly pregnant or in your third trimester and about to birth, plus everywhere in between, this course is for you.
