With lives seemingly getting busier and always on the go, itís often easy to forget about what is happening on your doorstep.
On the third Saturday of the month, the G boys and I venture to one of our local markets Ė Park Orchards Market.
Here, we enjoy taking in the sights, sounds and smells of what the community has to offer. With everything from fresh produce to the local CFA, you'll be hard pushed not to find something that interests you.
Molena Learning is a new interactive stimulating structured playgroup for Melbourne mums.
It is also a good opportunity for us to catch up with friends over a coffee and a sausage from the sausage sizzle while the kids run free.
Listen to the live music while you shop and let the little ones have fun with the kids entertainment on offer. To date this has included a petting zoo, jumping castle and pony rides.
The Park Orchards Market has been gracing the local calendar for a number of years. It started out as a Farmerís Market and is now inviting members of the community to be involved. Whether it is a community group wanting to raise money or awareness of what they do, or someone wanting to sell their handicraft or have a car boot sale, Park Orchards Market is the place to be.
Held in the grounds of Park Orchards Primary School, this market is supported by local community including groups Lions Club of Park Orchards and PORA (Park Orchards Ratepayers Association).
The Ballarat Beer Festival will feature not only great beers but plenty of food wine stalls and some great entertainment from the likes of The Vanns, Mast Gully Fellers, Butterfunked, Michael Meeking and DJ Doggler to name just a few.
