During the post-natal period Rachel is dedicated to providing women with a safe ‘return to exercise’ program, helping to prevent pelvic floor dysfunction and injury that can hinder physical, mental and emotional wellbeing in the future.

There are plenty of reasons for mums and mums-to-be to see a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist. These include:

Urinary Incontinence affects 2 in 3 women after childbirth. Rachel can work with you to prevent, manage and treat any bladder symptoms both during pregnancy and beyond.
Pain during or after sex can affect up to 62% of women after childbirth. Rachel will work with women to improve pelvic floor function and eliminate pain.
50% of women after 1 vaginal delivery will have a pelvic organ prolapse. Pelvic Floor rehabilitation and safe return to exercise is crucial to prevent, manage and treat symptoms.

As a specialist in pelvic floor physiotherapy, Rachel believes that every women should be afforded the opportunity to learn and complete a pelvic floor strengthening program during pregnancy.

Pregnancy Pelvic Floor appointments are offered for 30 minutes. During this time Rachel will assess the strength and endurance of your muscles, ensure you have appropriate technique and set you an individualised program to complete throughout pregnancy. It is recommended to start a pelvic floor strengthening program early in pregnancy. But it is never too early or too late to start training your pelvic floor.

Post-natal appointments are offered for 40 minutes and include assessment of pelvic floor, abdominal separation, pelvis alignment and return to exercise.

If you are experiencing pain during pregnancy, want to start strengthening your pelvic floor or want to know more information, there is no better time to get in touch with Rachel and learn the right techniques and information from the start.

Rachel has completed extensive study to be a qualified Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist. Feel free to contact Rachel if you have any questions or concerns in regard to pelvic health, pregnancy, post natal or exercise.
