Playdate Cafe in Hoopers Crossing is a one-of-a-kind gem that is almost impossible to compare to anywhere else.

This delightful not-for-profit cafe is one with a very big difference. All about giving back to the community, Playdate Cafe is a socially responsible venue using sustainable straws and not a paper cup in sight.

Do you want to learn how to knit? Or have recently started and would like to meet some new friends to share your creativity with, all while having a good chat? Melbourne Knitting Club has classes for you.
The Melbourne Crochet Club meets on a regular basis to learn crochet, meet other local mums, and to have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along.
However, what is really special about Playdate Cafe is the service it provides to locals. This is a training cafe, that offers volunteer work experience for people seeking employment - mainly focusing on mothers that would like to return to the workforce.

There's an indoor and outdoor play area for local families, with borrowed toys on rotation because Playdate Cafe has an arrangement with the nearest toy library.

Pop by if you're looking for a place to catch up with friends with little ones. Not only are you supporting a really great local initiative, but you will also have a friendly place to catch up while your kids are entertained.
