The National Gallery of Victoria's newest art gallery space for kids to coincide with MoMA

The word on the street is ART according to the Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby who popped in to the National Gallery of Victoria's (NGV) newest exhibition MoMA.

MoMA at NGV: 130 Years of Modern and Contemporary Art is the highly-anticipated Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition.

You and your family are invited to a Photography for Parents Workshop on Sunday 28th April 2019 at Fitzroy Gardens.
The exhibition features 200 pieces of iconic artworks that have travelled from the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Salvador Dalí, Frida Kahlo are just a few big name art pieces to view.

To coincide with the exhibition, NGV presents New York! New York! for Kids in the dedicated children's gallery: NGV Kids.

This segment of the exhibition celebrates The Big Apple in a tactile display for children of all ages to engage with.

Children are encouraged to build with New York inspired blocks to build towers and cities. Themed blocks include "I heart New York", subway signs, iconic street names and Broadway facades.

There is also a giant marble activity for children to roll oversized balls down and through the skyscrapers of a minature New York.

New York! New York! invites older children to test their New York City knowledge on interactive iPad stations and families of all ages can pose for in the NY-themed photobooth.

NGV's New York! New York! for Kids is located in the NGV Kids Gallery and is free to enjoy. Because of this, expect crowds if you visit during peak hours.

Regardless, NGV's New York! New York! is worth a visit. The Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby think so too!
