If you are a parent or primary caregiver of a child aged 2-5 years old, you are invited to participate in a Monash University project exploring the relationships between music use and parent-child attachment.
Parent-child music-making is often considered an enjoyable activity for both parent and child, but there is limited knowledge about the relationship between music use and parent-child relationship quality. This research project explores whether parent/caregiver-child music use is connected to relationship quality and related outcomes.
Parents and other primary caregivers of a 2-5-year-old child (or children) can participate in this research if they are:
18 years old or older
Fluent in English
You do NOT need to have prior musical experience to participate in this research.
Participation will involve completing questionnaires about:
music use at home
your relationship with your child
your understanding of your child's inner experiences
your own wellbeing
background information about you and your child
Once the survey is complete, participants can choose to enter a draw to win 1 of 5 $100(AUD) e-gift cards.
If you wish to participate, complete the survey on or before Sunday the 18th of February, 2024 as data collection concludes on this date.
If you have a question, please contact Chief Investigator Dr. Lalitha Newman at [email protected]
This study has been approved by the Monash University Human Research Ethics Committee - Project ID 40791
