Mums On The Go: Brighten Up Your Look This Winter

by kateG (follow)
It’s probably fair to say that most of us BC (Before Children) would have enjoyed wearing nice clothes, taking time to do our make-up, hair and wearing our most precious bling.

The journey into motherhood doesn’t prepare you for the distinct lack of YOU time. Life is busy for all of us running from one thing to another and generally caring for our babies (big or small).

The reality for many mums on the go is that it’s all too easy to go from caring about and taking time with your daily appearance, to feeling totally uninspired about fashion, and wearing what you feel comfortable in.

Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria’s hugely popular, free cubby building event, Botanica is returning to Melbourne Gardens this summer, along with a host of new activities for families.

With the mercury starting to fall, it’s all too tempting to reach for the tracky pants, baggy tops and tie your hair back because “you don’t have time for yourself anymore’.

But wait…Being a mum on the go doesn’t mean a rite of passage to sacrifice fashion for functionality. There are many simple and affordable ways to make you feel like a million-dollar mum.

I recently caught up with personal stylist, Mieke Krijgsman from Smart Styling who has shared her top style suggestions that are sure to put a spring back in your step and brighten up your look this winter but without breaking the bank.

Whether it’s to drop the kids to childcare, kinder or school, a coffee with mums or sitting on the side line of basketball, these outfits will have any mum stay bang on trend with minimal effort this winter.
