Came for a picnic, got surprised by the cockatoos!

This is such a beautiful hidden pocket in Westmeadows. We had the best time taking our 1 year old for a picnic as we live close by to the Westmeadows/Moonee Ponds Creek Trail.

We set up our spot and were in awe of the wildlife we saw. Cockatoos are the main attraction, and we also saw some rainbow lorikeets, ducks, magpies and could hear the sound of frogs! The cockatoos really make themselves heard in the evening time as they fly and screech like mad in the trees (it’s quite noisy & also entertaining).



Our little guy had fun chasing the birds, while mum ran away from them! Such a great experience for kids to learn about flora & fauna.

At this section there are public toilets, oval, playground and a BBQ area.
