Family-friendly NYE celebrations in Melbourne to see in 2020

We're almost at the end of the year and (believe it or not) the start of another decade. Have you thought about what you might do to see in 2020 with your family?

Without further ado, here is an overview of what's on for Melbourne families this New Year's Eve.

Please note that we could find no information on whether any fireworks have been cancelled due to fire bans. Check directly with the venue closer to the event time if you wanted to make sure.

NEW YEAR’S EVE AT SEA LIFE MELBOURNE AQUARIUM

Make a splash on New Year’s Eve at SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium with family-friendly packages available giving people of all ages the opportunity dive into 2020.

The family package runs from 7 – 10pm with face painting, a magician, food stations, live music and a bar for parents to purchase drinks at bar prices.

Families will also have fin-tastic views of the 9:30pm fireworks from SEA LIFE Melbourne’s Coral Atoll zone.

When: Tues 31 December 7 - 10pm. Guests must arrive by 7:45pm.
Costs: $79 for 18 plus. $59 13-17yo. $39 3-12yo. Under 3s Free

NEW YEAR'S EVE FIREWORKS

The city skyline comes alive with spectacular fireworks displays on New Year's Eve.

NYE FIREWORKS AT FOOTSCRAY PARK

Festival City's New Year's Eve spectacular fireworks event returns to Footscray Park for its 7th year. The event is held on NYE between 6:30pm - 10.30pm at Footscray Park, Ballarat Road, Footscray.

This special event is the second largest NYE event in Victoria, drawing thousands to the banks of the iconic Maribyrnong River.

Settle in for an amazing fireworks display which will illuminate the sky from 9.30pm.

2020 NEW YEARS EVE FAMILY PARTY AT SEAWORKS, WILLIAMSTOWN

Celebrate the New Year with friends and family in a secure location by the water at Waterfront Williamstown.

Book tickets to NYE at Seaworks and enjoy the midnight fireworks from one of the best locations in the West. The event will include food trucks, bars, DJ & live music, plus activities for the kids.

NEW YEAR'S EVE FAMILY DAY AT KRYAL CASTLE

Celebrate New Year's Eve with friends and family at Kryal Castle.

The Twilight New Year’s Eve Family Day is an afternoon/evening event starting from 2pm till 8pm. Activities include: dragon experience, market stalls, face painting, potion making, the Royal Joust, archery, giant inflatable slide, axe trowing, wizard demonstrations and the maze.

Food trucks and The Ale House will be open all day for wood fire pizza and beverages.

NEW YEAR'S EVE AT BONEO DISCOVERY PARK

Boneo Discovery Park on the Mornington Peninsula will host another amily friendly NYE event this December to see in 2020. Expect live music, rides, family friendly entertainment, workshops and more.
