Five family-friendly shows to check out at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2018.
Let's forget Easter for a minute and celebrate the fun loving comedy festival hitting Melbourne at the end of the month!
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) will open on 28 March and run through until the 22 April 2018.
Now in its 31st year, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival is the third largest comedy festival in the world, bringing together comical talent from all over the globe to entertain Victorians of all ages.
Yes that's right, Melbourne's much-loved comedy festival is not just for the grown-ups. Far from it when there are two pages of family friendly comedy shows to browse through on MICF's website.
Narrowing it down to a few favourites, we've listed five comedy shows for kids that are on our radar during this year's Melbourne International Comedy Festival:
Your mini cheeseheads are invited along to meet Bobby & Wanda, your typical suburban superhero duo who must defeat the evil Mr. Cheesehead. But first, they're going to have a snack ... and maybe a nap. Expect lots of games where the kids will become the real heroes of the show.
When: Tues 10 April - Sun 15 April 2018. 11:15am
Where: Melbourne Town Hall - Powder Room
Featuring six Aussies and one New Yorker, the Brat Kids Carnival is a fierce energetic show, pushing physical theatre boundaries! Circus skills, songs and plenty of silliness infused with tumbling, juggling, acro-balancing, trapeze and hula hooping.
When: Sunday 1, 8, 15 and 22 April at 4pm
Where: Famous Spiegeltent, Arts Centre Melbourne Forecourt
It's birthday time again for reluctant adult ‘identical’ twins Izzy Fizzy (Isabel Angus) and Dizzy Fizzy (David Morris), so they are throwing a Birthday Extravaganza show with a foolproof plan to go back in time. All the way back to being kids again!
When: 4-11 April (excluding Monday 9th) at 1.15pm.
Where: Melbourne Town Hall - Backstage room
From the makers of hit show Trash Test Dummies comes a new production filled with a flood load of fun!
Splash Test Dummies will dive into the Melbourne Town Hall during this year's Comedy Festival in a fabulous show filled with stunts, acrobatics, juggling and the side-splitting, slapstick comedy for which the dummies are famous.
Join the Dummies and come diving from bathtubs to beaches in this new aquatic adventure!
When: 31 March - 15 April 2018. 1pm
Where: Melbourne Town Hall, Lower Town Hall
