Melbourne’s first GREY GOOSE bar

This hidden gem within the opulent Crown Melbourne is more than just a bar; it's a luxury immersive experience designed to impress.

Entering Le Martini is like stepping into a dreamy escape from the monotony of ordinary life. Time slows down amid the allure of the martinis and the ambience, transporting you to another era where James Bond would feel right at home.

Every detail is meticulously crafted, from the perfect little touches like GREY GOOSE branded napkins and coasters to the elegant martini glasses. Even the bartender, with his stylish moustache, seems like a character straight out of a steampunk bar in a video game. The chic blue velvet interior sets the stage for falling in love with the classic cocktail all over again.

At the heart of Le Martini is GREY GOOSE, renowned for its exceptional quality and smooth taste. Each cocktail, prepared by resident mixologists, boasts an exquisite flavour profile crafted with the finest ingredients.

We were warmly welcomed upon arrival with classic martinis garnished with a lemon twist, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening. Our guide for the evening was none other than the vivacious Coco (@drinkwithcoco), a former bartender turned GREY GOOSE brand ambassador, who effortlessly charmed her way around the room, inquiring about everyone's favourite way to enjoy a martini. With a mischievous twinkle in her eye, she even teased, "With gin? (only if you want to hurt me)."

Under Coco's tutelage, we embarked on an exclusive martini journey curated by industry icon Dale DeGroff, also known as the 'King of Cocktails.' His meticulously crafted menu featured three exceptional cocktails, each blending rich history with modern techniques, promising a sensory experience like no other.

Described as "ONE drink with infinite possibilities", the martini is indeed a deeply personal cocktail, demanding to be savoured in all its variations - whether served dirty (with salt brine), shaken or stirred, wet or dry.

My personal favourite was the Passion Fruit martini with coconut foam and ginger syrup (vegan). Not only was it the most delicious and decadent drink I'd ever tasted. It was SO good that I couldn't help but (over)indulge #sorrynotsorry

Although the martinis were the star of the show, there was also an array of exquisite seafood canapés from Crown’s Bistro Guillaume in keeping with GREY GOOSE’s signature French quality and craftsmanship.

Also in keeping with the relaxed yet sophisticated vibe was that although the event finished at 9PM, the gracious team at Le Martini welcomed guests to stay and enjoy the space until 11PM, which was tempting to say the least and underscored the timeless appeal of Le Martini.

Le Martini is the kind of place where you'd imagine a celebrity quietly slipping away from the paparazzi. If I were a successful middle-aged man or simply wanted to channel my inner Leonardo DiCaprio, this is where I'd come to sip cocktails, entertain younger dates, and enjoy an intimate, secluded evening.

Next time you’re at the Crown, why not slip into Le Martini for a drink and a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle? It's a clandestine hideaway where you can immerse yourself in the prohibition-era style darkness of the decor, forgetting the outside world for a while. Here, amid the perfect martini glasses and elegant touches, time seems to stand still.
