Family-friendly, fun and destress with an elevated bowling experience.
Located within the vibrant and electric energy of Crown Melbourne, Kingpin is a distinctive ten pin bowling experience with an upmarket feel. With neon lights, upbeat music, great food, and a variety of relaxed seating options including bar stools, lounges and booths, Kingpin makes for a lively, mood-boosting atmosphere where there is only room for fun, healthy competition for some memorable times with friends and family. If you’re stuck for ideas of where to bring your extended family, a group of friends or work colleagues for some fun, quality time, Kingpin bowling is a great choice with it suitable for all ages and abilities.
The bowling lanes are equipped with bright neon lit-up scoreboards and the feature to take a photo of yourself that will go up on the board, to make it even easier and more fun to keep track of your score. Kids may particularly like seeing their faces up on the screen. I loved the interchanging colours of the neon light installations above the bowling lanes, which add so much colour and zest to the experience.
All that lifting and throwing of the balls will be sure to burn some energy. To refuel, order food and drinks at the bar. Then you can head back to your bowling lane to continue playing and the food will be brought out to you. Expect to be impressed by the menu that is no traditional bowling alley fare. Serving food that you find at a fancy bar, it includes sharing plates like Southern Fried chicken sliders, Parmesan Truffle Potato Gems, Jamaican Jerk Chicken Wings, snacks like the Central Park, New York City Street Dog and a burger menu as comprehensive as one of the best burger joints. Given the quality of the menu, I will be keen to try something from their dessert menu next time. It features a new item, of injectable donuts with a choice of fillings that include Salted Caramel Sauce, Baileys Custard and Mixed Berry Jelly.
Thankfully, they also serve the basics that kids love, such as pizza and chips. Everything was cooked to perfection, I felt like I was dining at a restaurant, not at a bowling alley. Their sweet potato chips were one of the best I have had. They also offer healthy options of salads and I was impressed that the menu also includes all-day breakfasts such as the Smashed Avocado Meal.
There is plenty of room for the kids to run around. There are also pool tables and even a retro Pacman game.

I came with my friend and our five and six year old girls, but the venue is versatile and sophisticated enough, including with its fully licensed bar, to cater for young adults for a cool night out, corporate groups, date nights and more.
For my daughter's first-ever bowling experience, Kingpin made it the perfect one for her that went smoothly, with no bowling shoes to fuss over, lots of bright lights to add that extra pizazz that kids love, and staff ensured the right weight of balls were delivered for her age.
Bowling is just one of the activities available at Kingpin, the ultimate entertainment destination. If you want to continue the fun, there are also arcade games, virtual reality, karaoke, escape rooms and more, all housed under the one venue, and located in the adjacent areas.
