The special care nursery at Frankston Hospital is where my newborn baby boy had the fight of his life back in 2009. He was born at term but struggled to breathe unassisted. He spent his first 10 days on oxygen in a humidicrib. We were lucky that he had the specialist care and equipment that he needed to make a full recovery.
The Kids K163 Fun Run is being held to assist the families of the sickest babies by donating the proceeds of the event to help purchase a special infant transport incubator so that babies can be transported safely to other parts of the hospital for procedures that can't be performed in the nursery.
"The run is a great way to give back and be involved in the community".
Runners are encouraged to gain sponsorship for their run efforts to help raise funds for the kids at Frankston Hospital. Kids running for kids!
