Meet Anglesea Golf Club's resident Eastern Grey Kangaroos
We recently ventured to the Surf Coast with our kids to participate in [link https://melbournemumsgroup.com.au/kids-adventure-outdoors-kaos-anglesea/ KAOS; Kids Adventure Outdoors Festival].
With a little time to spare before our departure home, we booked ourselves onto Anglesea Golf Club's [link https://angleseagolfclub.com.au/product/kangaroo-tours/ Kangaroo Tour].

The tours, which started in 2015, are almost entirely volunteer run, and operate from 10am daily. We hopped on board the golf buggy and got to meet some of the Golf Club's wild Eastern Grey Kangaroo mobs; there are estimated to be around 300 of them.
At the time of booking, the day proved to be the ideal temperature; not too hot and not too cold. Great for roo spotting because they were not in hiding due to the heat or rain.
Our experience at Anglesea Golf Club will be one to remember. This is by far the closest we've reached wild kangaroos. They are docile mobs, although it is not recommended to feed or touch them. We saw plenty of joeys, much to our children's delight and walked amongst our new bouncy friends.

The tour lasts around 15-20 mins and for a family of four costs $30. Otherwise it is $12.50 for an adult and $5 for a child.
Definitely worth booking if you're in the area and you're up for a roo encounter. Book in advance or rock up on the day.
