It's winter, so you probably don't need a reason to wear jeans in Melbourne's cooler months, however, on Friday 5 August 2016 there is even more reason for you to don your denim.
Now in its 23rd year, Jeans for Genes is a day recognised for people around the country wearing jeans to raise funds for the Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI). All money raised goes directly to research aimed at curing childhood genetic diseases, which currently affect 1 in every 20 Aussie kids.
Jeans for Genes Day 2016
If your child's school, kinder or playgroup is not on board with Jeans for Genes 2016, get onto it! Have a chat to your parent teacher committee and get the ball rolling before Friday 5 August.
Crazy Climb is the most exciting new indoor rock climbing facility in Melbourne!
This is the perfect opportunity to dig out your favourite denims, even go double denim if you dare! What's better, is raising awareness and money for a much-loved cause.
Alternatively if you wish to support Jeans for Genes on your own, this year, donating money is even easier. For the first time ever, you can ‘text-to-donate’, using your mobile phone to make a $5 donation to the charity, which automatically gets added to your phone bill. All you need to do is text ‘jeans’ to 1997 6484.
