Guardian Early Learning Centre in Caulfield North creates a warm and friendly environment, as well as a high quality early learning education for young children aged six weeks to six years old.

A focal point at [Link https://www.guardian.edu.au/childcare-early-learning-centres/vic/caulfieldnorth/ ] is the team's strong belief in collaborating with the outside community to give children the opportunities to connect with the wider world around them.

For example, the centre takes children in small groups around the neighbourhood to visit local places, such as parks, aged care facilities, Malvern Central Shopping Centre, and the library. This helps them to feel a sense of belonging with the community and to feel secure in new surroundings.



In the spirit of collaboration, the on-site chef works with educators, children and families to create and implement healthy and nutritious meals. There's even an area outside the kitchen which allows children to come together to share meal times.

Weekly food projects are also organised so children can participate in cooking experiences, such as food tasting and creating menu ideas. This helps children to find and use their voice so they learn that their opinions and ideas are important and valued.


Another focus within the centre is their sustainability group, which involves both educators and children coming together on a monthly basis to discuss ideas and goals for the centre. Everyone pitches in to take care of the gardening and veggie patches, by growing herbs, flowers and vegetables. This gives children the opportunity to take ownership and responsibility for their environment.
