If your kids love riding their bikes around, but seem a little bored with the local parks and footpaths, then maybe it's time to get them involved in their local BMX club?
My two boys are currently obsessed with their BMX and mountain bikes. They want to jump everything, do 'skids' everywhere and go as fast as they can... you guessed it, EVERYWHERE!
So, recently we took them down to the Sharks 'come and try' open day in Frankston, and not surprisingly, it was a huge success.
Our kids all joined in, including our 4 year old girl riding her little pink and red toddler bike. In fact, she was more confident than the boys and was grinning from ear to ear the entire time.
The Melbourne Crochet Club meets fortnightly to learn crochet, meet other Melbourne mums, and have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along!
All of the kids participated in a free, one hour coaching session that was divided into age categories. They were taught a few basics about riding on the track and how to position themselves in the start gates. After the session their confidence was pretty high so they continued to ride laps of the track until they were exhausted.
Since then, the kids haven't stopped asking about when they can go back.
It seems we have another sport to add to the growing list of after school activities!
