If you're looking for something to do with the kids to celebrate Halloween this year, look no further. Here's a round-up of family-friendly Halloween inspired activities and events happening in and around Melbourne.

Luna Dark at Luna Park

While the night time spooks are reserved for the grown ups at St Kilda's Luna Dark, younger Halloweeners are invited to join Melbourne's biggest costume party during the day on the Saturday and Sunday in the lead up to the big night.

Spooktober returns to St Kilda for its 6th year! St Kilda Town Hall hosts the pop-up Halloween Festival, which is transformed into a 5-day ghostly extravaganza!

The Spooktober Festival promises to immerse your family in all things Halloween!

Featuring two Haunted House experiences with different scare levels, the ultimate Trick or Treat Trail, food trucks, Halloween themed games and activities, costume contests and roving entertainment, there's enough here to spook all ages. Free entry!

Hauntville at Burnley Circus Park

Hauntville takes over Burnley Circus Park in Melbourne this October for the very first time.

This Halloween festival will run over two fright-tastic weekends in October, feature two haunted house attractions, a food festival, chilling performers, and plenty of spooky games and entertainment for all ages.

Families and children 12 years and under are encouraged to visit the (less frightening but extremely entertaining) Twisted Circus haunted house during a two-hour early bird timeslot from 4pm-6pm. Entry into the festival grounds is free. Tickets for the Haunted Houses can be purchased here.

Halloween Party at Boneo Maze in Fingal

Visit Boneo Maze on the Mornington Peninsula and celebrate Halloween on Sunday October 28 with a full day of spooky themed activities, face painters, kids crafts and costume competitions.

12pm – 2:30pm: Scavenger hunt, lunch available in the café’ or BYO picnic
2:30 – 3pm: Costume Parade
3pm – 3:30pm: Best costume judging
3:30pm – 5pm: more bobbing for apples, treasure hunts, mini golf and arts and crafts.

Halloween at the Old Cheese Factory in Berwick

The Old Cheese Factory Berwick will become a spooky playground for Halloween where your kids are invited to enter the Trick or Treat Trail and meet costumed characters along the way.

Dandenong Market will celebrate Halloween with a day of ghoulish and ghastly fun on Sunday 28 October.

There's a trick or treat treasure hunt, three different workshops including masks, wand-making and the Mad Scientist’s laboratory.

There's also kids’ face painting, scary hair makeovers and special effects make up for adults.

Balloon artists will be on hand creating balloon art for kids and roaming performers Bertha Witch, Vampire Batty Betty, Chef Monstro and Rory the dinosaur will be ready for a meet n' greet.

Dandenong Market traders will offer a spooktacular Halloween feast of frightening and fantastic limited edition dishes.

This Halloween, the Yarra Valley Railway offers two spooktacular events.

Westfield Knox will host their Halloween Spooktacular, where the centre will come alive with spooky sights and activities for the kids to participate in for free from Saturday 27 – Wednesday 31 October.
