Easy Birth Preparation and The 4th Trimester Workshops

Sunday 8th of September to Sunday 6th of October
by BecSorby (follow)
Two informative and empowering workshops for expectant and new mothers and their partners.

As an expectant mum, the last thing you need to feel is nervous and stressed about labour. With hospital birthing classes often providing only basic information about labour and those early days with your newborn, you may feel like you are unprepared for birth and have no support available.

If you feel like you need more information and support to help you and your partner make the best decisions for you and your baby, Easy Birth Preparation and The 4th Trimester are workshops that will provide expectant parents with hands-on skills and tools that go beyond the basic necessities of hospital classes.

Both workshops have been specifically designed by mums to bridge the gap between the basic education provided by hospital birthing classes, and the reality of pregnancy, labour and the ‘4th trimester.’

Women and their partners will walk away from each workshop with a whole range of knowledge that isn't discussed in hospital birthing classes, giving parents more choice, better support and feeling empowered to make informed, educated decisions.

The workshops are run by midwife and certified pregnancy and postnatal exercise trainer Anita Guerra from Fit For 2, and Dr Julia Bartop (TCM and acupuncturist) from Rebalance Chinese Medicine.

Anita and Julia have developed the workshops using feedback from pregnant women about what they actually need and want from a birthing class, so they have been designed by mothers and expectant mothers, for mothers.

During these workshops, participants and their partners will gain a better understanding of their choices about birth, regardless of what those choices are.

The aim is to empower women to feel educated about their choices, reduce the fear surrounding labour and reiterate that resources and support are available when you need it.

There are two workshops currently running in September and October - Easy Birth Preparation and The 4th Trimester. Pregnant women are invited to attend Easy Birth Preparation and continue onto The 4th Trimester workshop.

All expectant mothers are welcome to attend, regardless of whether or not this is their first pregnancy. The workshops are perfect for pregnant women who want to refresh their knowledge of birth, especially if they feel their birth choices were not supported or not right for them the first time around.

Each workshop will provide mums and their partners with the hands-on skills, information and knowledge needed to feel like can make the best possible decisions for labour and into the 4th Trimester.
