One of my family's favourite day trips over summer is a ferry ride to Queenscliff followed by a train ride on the Bellarine Heritage Railway. The kids absolutely adore it! And for something a little more special there's the Day Out With Thomas coming up over the school holidays.
On April 8th & 9th you can join in the fun with a 45 minute train ride on one of Thomas Friends (departure times are 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30 or 2:30pm), followed by unlimited rides on Thomas in the Troublesome Trucks and don't forget to get your photo taken with Sir Topham Hatt!
Tickets are best purchased online as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
Tickets cost: $90 family of five, $25 adults, $25 child (4-7 years old), $12 toddlers (1-3 years old) and babies are free.
Join in on the NEW Art of Beer tour of Melbourne, which will cover the city's relationship with beer, its history and the best places to drink and enjoy beer.
Day out with Thomas tickets include:
Spot the Engine family activity
Jumping Castle and Children’s Maze
Visit Henry and blow his whistle
Thomas the Tank Engine story telling
Colouring competition and Child’s show bag
Photo opportunities galore and more!
There will be a BBQ by the Clifton Springs Lions Club, snacks, hot/cold drinks and ice-creams available on the day although the Queenscliff Rolling Pin Bakery is only a short stroll away as are a long list of cafes and takeaway shops.
This is a perfect toddler/young children's event (18 months- 6 years old).
Most people arrive early to go on the 45min train ride before lunch and so their little ones don't get too tired before the ride.
Take sunscreen, hats, water and snacks.
Pack bathers and some towels to visit the beach afterwards.
One of the world’s most famous stories is being brought to life this summer by Playhouse Pantomimes! Join them on a magical journey through a mystical world in their mesmerising current production of 'Alice in Wonderland.'
Dining out with the kids is not always easy, but it can be even harder trying to find family-friendly options when you are vegetarian, vegan, paleo or gluten free. If you can relate to this, make Plant Based Mum your go-to blog.
