During Melbourne's cooler months the kids I really enjoy visiting the Dandenong Market for fresh produce and inspiration. There's nothing better than being in a warm kitchen with the kids when it's cold and wet outside. The aromas of hot soup, apple crumble and slow cooked meals wafting through the house....Yum!
The Dandenong market is full of international flavours that will get the kids stepping outside their comfort zone. Each time we visit we make a point of trying something new.
Join in on the NEW Art of Beer tour of Melbourne, which will cover the city's relationship with beer, its history and the best places to drink and enjoy beer.
Have a look at Dandenong Markets recipe page for seasonal meal ideas like braised beef with Mediterranean spices, fetta tart with caramelised onion and slow roasted Jerusalem artichoke soup.
Make sure you check out the Dandenong Market's What's On page as there is always plenty free events, activities and international street food days that are fun for the family. Some upcoming events include Free donut day, National burger day, Matariki at the Market... and don't forget free face painting every Sunday from 11am-2pm
