On the night we attended
Brewmanity, a rooftop bar in South Melbourne that boasted incredible views, delicious food and innovative craft brews, it was pouring (typical Melbourne) and we seriously considered postponing our adventure for another day.
Oh the Brewmanity!
However, once we arrived at the three-storey brewery & bar, it proved to be a surprisingly cosy venue as we were greeted warmly by owner David Neitz and welcomed into a gorgeous event space with retractable awnings, heaters and the promise of a roaring fire to come.
Beer in hand, our troubles immediately evaporated as the evening developed into an unforgettable experience filled with lively discourse, vibrant flavours, and of course, tasty beers!
The adventure kicked off with a group tour of the brewery, where we learned about the craft behind every pint sampled from head brewer Tim, setting the stage for an immersive journey into the wonderful world of beer.
As we sampled the delightfully refreshing Mouth of the South Draught and the captivating Social Beast Pale Ale, my designated driver succumbed to the siren call of the beers and we had to call in a favour from our good friend Nick to ensure our safe passage home.
Caution: The beers at Brewmanity are so good, you'll need more than one designated driver—bring your whole crew and perhaps an Uber Driver or two to ensure a good night is had by all.
The highlight for most visitors will undoubtedly be the rooftop area, offering breathtaking views of Melbourne’s skyline and a perfect ambience for relaxation. However, the real drawcard of
Brewmanity is retired footy legend turned entrepreneur David Neitz, whose obvious passion for brewing awesome beers and bringing people together over great food was evident as we indulged in the best of what Melbourne has to offer - think beer-braised slow-cooked lamb on the bone, chicken karaage, beef sliders and South Melbourne market dim sims.
As Neitz emphasises, the driving concept behind this vibrant venue is to foster a laid-back atmosphere where everyone can come together to share delicious meals served family style. This philosophy permeates every aspect of
Brewmanity where patrons are invited to relax, unwind, and enjoy the company of friends and strangers alike.
But Neitz's vision extends beyond the dining experience. The community-focused brewer regularly raises funds for charity, with contributions nearing $970,000 for Fight MND. His ambitious plans for
Brewmanity include hosting upcoming Oktoberfest celebrations and rooftop yoga sessions, complete with boozy smoothies as a post-workout treat.
With a dedicated team by his side, it’s no wonder that
Brewmanity has been making waves since opening its doors in March 2024 and is poised to become one of the Best Breweries in Melbourne. Currently the Beer Hall on the ground floor and Next Level on the first floor are open to eager guests, with Level Up on the top floor slated to open at the end of April.
To experience the vibrant atmosphere and exceptional offerings of
Brewmanity firsthand,
plan your visit today. You will leave with cherished memories and a newfound appreciation for the art of brewing. For more details and updates on events, menu offerings, and opening hours, visit the
Brewmanity website . Cheers to good times and great brews!
Here for a good time and a long time. With our designated driver Nick and Brewmanity owner David Neitz
