Follow Karen's Instagram feed and you will see she is a talented artist using embroidery thread, watercolour and pencils in her work, but it is her illustrations that capture the hearts of readers in her newly published book An A - Z of Creatures.

The book itself has taken two years to put together, after Karen's initial idea to craft a hand-illustrated book presenting creatures great and small in an alphabetised fashion.

The Geelong Crochet Club meets on a regular basis to learn crochet, meet other local mums, and to have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along.
You and your family are invited to a Photography for Parents Workshop on Sunday 28th April 2019 at Fitzroy Gardens.
Karen has worked tirelessly to draw and paint more than 26 animals to feature in her book, depicted in her own unique zentangle style.

An A - Z of Creatures features a handful of native birds, making the book distinctly Australian. You can also expect a few special surprises, such as a mythical creature and a few prehistorics!

Each creature is matched with interesting facts that are as interesting to the grown-ups as much as they are children.

The back story behind this gorgeous book is one to inspire any budding author and illustrator, because Karen managed to get her book to print after a successful online crowd funding campaign.

After just 6 weeks of An A to Z of Creatures's initial launch in September 2016, Karen's book requires a reprint.

To help Karen Allen's beautiful book reach the world, why not consider supporting her newest crowdfunding campaign. If you pledge $25, you will receive a signed copy of An A to Z of Creatures, alternatively $10 will get you a pack of 3 gift cards, to be delivered before Christmas.
