Spooky times ahead with Halloween just around the corner. If you're looking for something to do with the kids to embrace the festivities this year, look no further.


We give you a list of 5 family-friendly events and activities happening around Melbourne, so you can celebrate Halloween as a family!

* Halloween Ghost Hunt at Como Mansion

The National Trust have organised two afternoons of ghostly hunts at the historic Como Mansion.

Children aged 6-12 and grown-ups are invited to join a special tour that explores the unique and spookier side of the mansion.

Collect your Ghost Hunt pack from the Como information centre and join in a fun scavenger hunt to find the ghosts in the garden and find out who and what haunts the halls.

Where: Como House, Williams Rd & Lechlade Ave, South Yarra
When: Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 October 2017. Two sessions: 3 - 4pm & 4:30 - 5:30pm.

* Fright Night Spooktacular 2017

Get ready for some Halloween fun at this year's Fright Night Spooktacular, taking place at Cranbourne Racecourse.

Enjoy an evening of frightfully friendly fun suited to the whole family. There's circus entertainment, live music, a trick or treat Spook Street, glow zone and so much more.

* Halloween Mooroolbark Miniature Railway

The Mooroolbark and District Miniature Railway and Steam Club will host a special Halloween themed miniature steam train rides as an alternative to trick or treating on Tuesday 31 October. This is a family friendly event, costumes are encouraged.

* Halloween at Boneo Maze and Mini Golf

Celebrate an early Halloween with spooky themed activities at Boneo Maze.

Balloon artists, face painters, kids crafts and costume competitions are all part of the fun. Make your own spooky mask, bob for apples and enjoy a spooky themed scavenger hunt!

* Boo at the Zoo Halloween Party

Experience Werribee Open Range Zoo as it is transformed into a Halloween-themed family event running over two evenings.

Stomp around Werribee Zoo this October, and Trick or Treat throughout the Pula Trail!

There will be crafts, games, and roving Halloween family-friendly characters throughout the evenings. Trick or treat with themed doors located throughout the Zoo!

Boo at the Zoo is supported by Wizz Fizz. Dress-ups encouraged.
