Children's Week occurs from October 22 - 30, 2016 and "is a national celebration of childrenís rights, talents and citizenship and always celebrated around Universal Children's Day which is held on the fourth Wednesday of October in Australia."
2015 was my first Children's Week as a mummy, however, my daughter was only 6 weeks old and I was still trying to work out whether it was AM or PM!
This year, I am determined to embrace the 2016 Children's Week with arms wide open armed with an array of events to attend with my ever trusty nappybag packed.
Join in on the NEW Art of Beer tour of Melbourne, which will cover the city's relationship with beer, its history and the best places to drink and enjoy beer.
So I've been doing some research while waiting for my daughter to have her afternoon nap, and here's what I've found:
1. Hobson's Bay City Council Children's Week Picnic
DATE: Wednesday October 26
TIME: 10am - 1pm
LOCATION: Logan Reserve, Cnr Pier St & Queen Street Altona.
Pack your own picnic lunch and enjoy some of the activities set up on the day.
Unfortunately this event is mid-week, so in a lot of families this will rule out the attendance of one parent; some families won't be able to attend at all. However, Wyndham City Council have an alternative for the working families with their annual Children's Week Picnic at the Werribee Mansion.
On Saturday 26th May is the National Business Brilliance Awards & Conference which is a celebration of amazing women in business (who also mange to fulfil the role of amazing mum!) by way of showing off their products and services, listening to their inspiring stories and celebrating their achievements.
