You Know You're a Melbourne Mum When...

1. You frequent local cafes with your child, for a recreational activity.

2. Your child now orders his/her own babycino to enjoy alongside your latte.

3. A visit to the park is never complete without a takeaway coffee in hand.

4. Sushi is a staple lunch time feed.

5. Your children know their way around ACMI's Screen World in Federation Square, but never get bored seeing the same things.

6. When you visit the NGV International Gallery, your kid makes a beeline for the water wall.

7. Your car boot holds the necessities to accompany four seasons in one day; an umbrella, sunscreen, a bucket and shovel, winter jacket, sunhat and cardigan.

8. You check the weather forecast weekly, daily and hourly.

9. You soon realise your kids birthday party in the park is going to be a wash-out, so frantically call around indoor play-centres to reserve a table at the last minute.

10. In Melbourne, Crocs do not mean revolting shoes, Crocs mean indoor play centres.

11. You've come to realise (the hard way) not to put cheese or chocolate in your kid's lunchbox without an ice-block.

12. You're super excited about the new Hoyts cinema's reclining seats.

13. Footy Day at school requires a mad dash to Target/K-mart/Big W to find your kids AFL team outfit. Only to find, they've probably sold out anyway.

14. Footy cards (and Woolworths animal cards). All.Over.The.Floor.

15. You complain about the queues to see the MYER Christmas window display, but you still go every year.

16. Your kid refuses to go to bed when summer daylight savings kick in, because it is still 'daytime'.

17. You've googled "kid friendly wineries" on more than one occasion.

18. When you take your kids to the beach, you know better than to go to St Kilda.

19. You visit Luna Park and realise it isn't as terrible as you remember .... in winter...without the crowds.

20. You visit Melbourne Museum, spend hours in the Children’s Gallery, and go home without seeing anything else.
