Melbourne Mums take note. The House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria is now officially open and it is a feast for the senses.
Exclusive to Melbourne, this fashion exhibition is a collaboration between the NGV and the House of Dior, Paris, and features a sumptuous display of over 140 garments from Christian Dior Couture designed between 1947 and 2017.
What surprised me most about the exhibition, is the sheer size of it. Just when you thought you'd seen it all, there's more.
Walking through the gallery and you can't help but admire the extravagance of Dior's haute couture designs on display.
Like walking into another world, the House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture exposes the rich history of this "high-end" fashion house, including Christian Dior’s early works and the milestones of its six successive designers following Christian Dior’s sudden death in 1957.
Enjoy the intricate designs of Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons and Maria Grazia Chiuri.
