If you are looking for a fun way to get active with your kids this winter, why not give roller skating a go?
I have fond memories of whiling away the afternoons making up skate routines with my friends – so release your inner skater girl or boy and take the kids for a spin at your local roller rink.
If you are a little hesitant to get back on four wheels, then why not let the kids have a go.
I recently took Mr 4 for a pre-school roller skating session at Bayswater Roller City called Tots Happenings.
This 90-minute session allows pre-school aged kids to get familiar with roller skating and learn to have fun. A qualifies instructor combines basic skating instruction with games and dancing which makes it more fun for the kids (and the adults watching!).
Although Mr 4 was initially hesitant, by the end of the session he was starting to get some momentum and confidence.
For only $10 entry which includes the session, skate hire and a biscuit and drink for each child, this is a fun, affordable activity.
Each week during term time, the Tots Happenings sessions adds a little extra to make it more enjoyable for the kids. There is a different theme each week including bring a friend, wear your PJs, bring our favourite toy and come dressed in your favourite colour.
The Tots Happenings sessions run every Friday 10-11.30am during term time only.
Bayswater Roller City also has lots to offer kids and adults who dream to roll.
