Peninsula Hot Springs - With Children

by Lorraine A (follow)
As parents we often feel guilty about taking time out for ourselves to relax and unwind. 'There's always something to do and never enough time do it' and when we do take time out for ourselves we feel guilty about not using that quality time to spend with our family.. sound familiar to you?

Cave Pool

Recently I decided it was time for us all to take some time out as a family to relax, enjoy each other's company and soak up the stunning surrounds at the Peninsula Hot Springs.

On the way down from Hilltop Pool

We arrived for an 8am booking to enjoy the quiet stillness of morning and were lucky enough to pretty much have the Hot Springs all to ourselves.

Hilltop Pool

The highlight for me was definitely when we were soaking in the highest pool (Hilltop Pool) looking across the horizon to the start of a fresh new day with barely a sound in the air other than the birds chirping and the children talking with their legs dangling into the hot water (pictured above).

The temperature of the pools varies between an icy plunge pool up to 40 plus degrees with each of the pools temperatures clearly marked on signs before entering the pool.

With 14 pools, 6 baths, a bubble spa couch, outdoor massaging showers, a sauna, reflexology walk, falling water massage and so much more, we really were spoilt for choice and naturally had to try them all!

Keeping in mind that children need to be out of the top section of the Hot Springs before 10am we started at the top and worked our way slowly down to the Family pool spending about 10 minutes in each pool before the kids were ready to move along.

Kids Bathing Barrels

Overall we loved this experience together and we look forward to coming back another time.
