Mornington Park Playground is situated in the perfect location to take full advantage of the nearby beaches and cafes.
The playground equipment was fully updated about a year ago now, and although it's much better than it previously was, I do think the shire could have designed the playground better to accommodate the volume of children that frequent this park throughout the year.
In saying that, Mornington Park does have a lovely seaside atmosphere and is a great spot for a picnic or BBQ, followed by a game or two of cricket on the adjacent oval and/or a stroll or swim at Mother's beach which is located below the park.
Play equipment includes:
2 toddlers swings
2 kids swings
A net swing
A large pirate ship
Climbing net and climbing frames
Apart from the equipment listed above, one of the other most popular things for the local children to do is to climb this beautiful old Moreton Bay Fig pictured below.
Facilities include: Free electric BBQ's, picnic tables, a toilet block across the other side of the park, drinking fountains and plenty of carparking.
The park also hosts the Mornington Farmers Market on the second Saturday of each month between 8am-1pm.
You will find the park located on the corner of Schnapper Point Drive and The Esplanade, Mornington.
