Eagle Skylift

by Lorraine A (follow)
The all new Eagle Skylift at Arthurs Seat has officially opened and is now ready for you to enjoy the scenic gondola ride from the foothills of Dromana to the peak of Arthur's Seat which stands at 305 meters above sea level.

You can take a one way or a return trip starting from either the Dromana Base station or the Arthurs Seat Summit station. If you are taking a one way trip than I would suggest that you board the gondola from the Summit station so you can take full advantage of the magnificent views across Port Phillip Bay towards the city skyline.

Summit station

After a visit today I was impressed with how quiet the gondola ride is and that you can still hear the birds and the hum of the traffic below if you are in an open cabin. Whilst it doesn't have that same nostalgic feel of the old chair lift I'm sure it will be popular with visitors to the Mornington Peninsula.

Fast facts:
The ride lasts about 15 minutes each way.
Each gondola carries up to 8 people.
There is a combination of open and closed cabins to ensure an all-weather experience.
The gondolas have all ability accessibility for wheelchairs, prams, strollers and zimmer frames.
Car parking is located at the summit and the base but the majority of parking is located at the base.

All ability access Summit station

Return tickets cost: $24 adults, $21 concession, $15 kids (4-16 years old)
One way tickets cost: $17.50 adults, $15 concession, $11 kids.

Tickets can be purchased online with a 12 month expiry date or at the Base or Summit stations.
