by kateG (follow)
Dandenong will be shining bright again this year as the Festival of Light returns.

This vibrant festival celebrates the Chinese culture through a display of more than 500 silk lanterns.

Accompanied by ambient music, these interactive lanterns will come in all shapes and sizes including Chinese Zodiacs, terracotta warriors, animals and more.

In addition to the light displays, there will also be live performances from drummers and lion costume dancing which is sure to delight the young and old.

To add the cultural experience, visitors will also be able to have a go at kung fu and drumming in workshops that will happening throughout the festival.

But wait, there’re more…kids can enjoy plenty of rides that will be part of the festival as well as savour the local culinary delights, including a dumpling bar.

The Dandenong Festival of Lights is the perfect way to welcome in Spring with your family and friends.
This colourful festival will run from 26th August til 9th October.
