Children's Week occurs from October 22 - 30, 2016 and "is a national celebration of children’s rights, talents and citizenship and always celebrated around Universal Children's Day which is held on the fourth Wednesday of October in Australia."

Children's Week

2015 was my first Children's Week as a mummy, however, my daughter was only 6 weeks old and I was still trying to work out whether it was AM or PM!

This year, I am determined to embrace the 2016 Children's Week with arms wide open armed with an array of events to attend with my ever trusty nappybag packed.

So I've been doing some research while waiting for my daughter to have her afternoon nap, and here's what I've found:

1. Hobson's Bay City Council Children's Week Picnic
Details:
DATE: Wednesday October 26
TIME: 10am - 1pm
LOCATION: Logan Reserve, Cnr Pier St & Queen Street Altona.

Pack your own picnic lunch and enjoy some of the activities set up on the day.

Werribee Park Children's Picnic

Unfortunately this event is mid-week, so in a lot of families this will rule out the attendance of one parent; some families won't be able to attend at all. However, Wyndham City Council have an alternative for the working families with their annual Children's Week Picnic at the Werribee Mansion.

2. Wyndham City Council Children's Week Picnic
Details:
DATE: Sunday October 23, 2016
TIME: 10am - 4pm
LOCATION: Werribee Park: Gate 2, K Road Werribee South

Entry and activities are advertised as free...I am assuming this is also a BYO Picnic Lunch.

For all of the Victoria Children's Week events visit HERE All the events are sorted by date and council/location so its really easy to find something close to you.

Also, drop in to your local library and see if they have any Children's Week events/activities running.

I'd love to hear from you about any events you have discovered that are in Melbourne's West...and if you see me come say hi...I'd love to meet other mummies and bubbies!!
